SDSSA will sponsor the following tournaments June 3,4,5, 2011 in Sioux Falls:

1.) Kohl’s American Cup – U8 players/teams – any registered SD team of U8 players up to the maximum roster size allowed by SDSSA may register to play in a festival format, playing 3 games Saturday.  Entry fee per team is $150 up to a maximum roster size of 7 players.  Alternatively, individual players may register to play on a randomly assigned team and play three games Saturday.  Entry fee per individual player is $25 and must apply to play by the team deadline below.  Participation awards will be given to all players.

2.) Kohl's American Cup - U10 teams –there will be two divisions, a Competitive division and an Academy division.  In the Competitive division all registered teams will play to a single championship, play for this division will begin Friday.  In the Academy division all teams will play in a festival format, with two games per day Saturday and Sunday.  Teams registering for play in this division must be associated with an academy program within their respective Associations, and cannot play in the competitive U10 Division.  Academy teams not wanting to play in the U10 Academy division may request to play in the U12 “B” Division.

3.) Midcontinent Cup – Recreational “B” and “A” Divisions – for Recreational teams U12 – U19 teams June 3-5 in Sioux Falls. Recreational teams may guest up to 6 players; providing they do not go over the allowable age group roster size. (U12 roster size limit is 14 players, U14 is 18 players, U16 and U19 is 25 players but guest players can only be added to U16 or U19 teams up to a total of 18 players total.) These guest players must be rostered to recreational only teams. Only Recreational “B” rostered players can be guest players for Recreational “B” entered teams. No State Cup players may play on any team playing in the Recreational Tournament. The Recreational Committee may consider exceptions to this on a team-by-team basis. In both divisions, teams will play to a single division championship.  Any recreational team using any method of selecting players other than random order will not be allowed to play in the Recreational “B” Division but will instead be entered in the “A” Division. The Recreational Committee may consider exceptions to this on a team-by-team basis as well.  Any Recreational team chosen by random order may also request to play in the “A” division, subject to approval from the Recreational Committee.  If a team requests to play in the Recreational Tournament, but numbers are not sufficient to support enough games for a team in that age/gender division, SDSSA reserves the right to move that team into the “B” division of the next higher age group.  Any team affected will be notified of this situation and will be allowed to cancel without penalty if desired. Teams that have over 7 players from a SDSSA “AA” division varsity team from the 2010 fall season will automatically play in the U19 “A” division.

No player may play on more than one team in the tournament.

4. Fees: Registration deadline is May 10^th.

U-8 $150.00 per 7 player team, or $25 per individual player assigned to pooled teams.

U-10 $250.00

U-11/12 and above $350.00

(Teams dropping out of competition once the schedules have been completed will lose their entry fee plus will be fined additionally based on the date of the team withdrawal)

5. Fine for early withdrawal: Leagues that drop teams from the State Recreational Tournament after the pairings have been completed, will be fined a $200 Penalty and will not receive a refund of their entry fee.
