The South Dakota State Soccer Association is excited to announce the hiring of Dale Weiler as its new Technical/Executive Director.

Dale grew up as a youth soccer player in the Twin Cities area. He continued his playing career as a Division I soccer player at UW-Milwaukee and furthered his career as a professional for three seasons with the Minnesota Thunder.

After his playing career he moved to South Dakota with his wife Kendra in 2009. He spent three years as an assistant coach at Augustana University while earning a Master's Degree in Sports Administration and Leadership. During his time at Augustana, he also coached multiple teams within Dakota Alliance Soccer Club. Soon after, he was hired as the Competitive Director for DASC. During this time he earned his USSF National Youth License and USSF B-License.

In 2015, he and his wife moved to Rochester, MN. While in Minnesota, Dale worked for the esteemed Shattuck St. Mary's School in the Soccer Center of Excellence as a coach for one of their U.S. Development Academy Teams. Furthermore, while in Minnesota he worked for Minnesota United FC as a scout analyst for their MLS team.

Comment from Dale "I'm excited to be back in South Dakota and to be able to finally call it home. The popularity of youth soccer in our state combined with passionate players, coaches, administrators, referees, families and fans makes for a very exciting time to be a part of youth soccer here in South Dakota. Our ability to work together to foster learning, enjoyment, competition and growth from every corner of our state to every level of player is crucial. I look forward to building a strong relationship with all of you and for our association to be the vehicle for our kids to have the most positive experience possible being a soccer player here in our great state." -Dale-
